Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Naija Diaspora Marriage platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions outlined here, you must not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the service signifies your acceptance of any updated terms.

To use Naija Diaspora Marriage, you must meet the following criteria:

• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• You must possess the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
• You must comply with the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction.
• You are permitted to maintain only one active account per person (or per represented family member for family accounts).

As a member of our community, you agree to the following responsibilities:

• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Truthfulness: All information provided in your profile, including health statuses and genotype, must be accurate and truthful.
• Respectful Conduct: You will interact with other members respectfully. Harassment, abuse, or hate speech will not be tolerated.
• Lawful Use: You will not use the platform for any illegal activities or to upload unauthorized copyrighted content.

The following actions are strictly prohibited on Naija Diaspora Marriage:

• Harassing, bullying, or intimidating other users.
• Sending spam, soliciting money, or engaging in fraudulent scams.
• Uploading explicit, pornographic, or violent content.
• Impersonating any person or entity, or creating fake profiles.
• Attempting to hack, disrupt, or compromise the platform's security.
• Using the platform for commercial purposes or unauthorized scraping of data.
• Violating intellectual property rights.

You retain all ownership rights to the content (text, photos, bio) you upload to Naija Diaspora Marriage. However, by uploading content, you grant Naija Diaspora Marriage a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content strictly for the purpose of operating the service.

You represent that you have the right to upload the content and that it does not infringe on third-party rights. Naija Diaspora Marriage reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms at our sole discretion.

Premium features on Naija Diaspora Marriage require a paid subscription. Billing occurs on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) depending on your selected plan. Payments are processed securely via Stripe or Paystack.

No Refunds: Subscriptions are non-refundable for the duration of the billing cycle already paid for. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain premium access until the end of your current cycle. We will provide a 30-day advance notice for any changes in pricing.

Naija Diaspora Marriage is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Naija Diaspora Marriage and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service.

We cap our total liability to you for any claims arising out of these terms to the amount you paid Naija Diaspora Marriage in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not responsible for user-generated content or the actions of third-party services.

We make no guarantees regarding the success of finding a match or the compatibility of the users you interact with. While we aim for 99.9% platform uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Naija Diaspora Marriage does not conduct criminal background checks on its users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members. Please use caution and common sense when meeting people online or in person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms of Service. Accounts that remain inactive for more than 6 months may be subject to termination to maintain community quality.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Any disputes arising from these Terms of Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Naija Diaspora Marriage.
